Newborn Photography Setups
The terms "beanbag posing" and "prop setups" can be confusing and difficult to grasp when you first hear them. Let me explain what each setup involves and provide some information to help you understand them better.
A prop setup uses items like baskets, beds, buckets etc., to create themed or color-based setups. Each prop allows for only 2-3 different variations due to its dimensions. For example, circular props are ideal for top-down angles, rectangular props for side angles, and deeper props for front-facing poses and so on. Explore some of our most requested prop setups here.
In newborn photography, unlike posing in a prop which offers limited poses in each setup, a beanbag setup uses a large, soft backdrop as a posing surface for the baby, providing a comfortable and safe space for various poses. With minimal to no props, this enables babies to curl into natural poses resulting in beautiful and heartwarming portraits. Read about beanbag posing in detail here.
Family posing in a newborn photoshoot involves capturing the newborn with their immediate family members in a variety of affectionate and intimate poses. These sessions typically include the parents, siblings, grand parents or any extended family holding or interacting with the baby. Poses may range from everyone looking at the camera to candid shots of the family gazing at the newborn, kissing, or cuddling. Check out some family portraits with a newborn here.
